Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd MAY 2020

either 12-4pm UK time, or 1-5pm UK time (will confirm asap)

Registration & Conference Information

Given the postponement of the physical 30th Audit & Assurance Conference due to the impact of the COVID-19, it was decided that a smaller-scale and virtual Audit & Assurance Conference will be held in the original conference dates, i.e. on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd May 2020. The conference is organised by the Auditing Special Interest Group of the BAFA and with the support of Aston Business School.

The virtual conference would provide valuable opportunities for attendees to discuss current auditing topics and listen to powerful professional (non-academic) keynote speakers and international academic presenters. We expect the impact of COVID-19 on auditors and businesses and the future of audit, including the radical audit reforms proposed currently in the UK, would be discussed and debated.

The virtual conference would be shorter lasting for 4 hours in each day. We would have snap academic research presentations for about 15-min in total (presentation for 10-12 minutes and a Q&A for 3-5 minutes). Non-academic presentations would last longer.

All presentations would be in plenary. There would be 12 academic presentations over the two days, plus a number of non-academic professional speakers. Sir Donald Brydon (of ythe Brydon report), Mark Babington (Executive Director of Regulatory Standards, FRC), Steve Maslin (Audit Committee member), among other speakers have confirmed their participation. The final conference programme would be announced in the next couple of days.

We envisage to have some breakout rooms where attendees can "mingle" virtually with other attendees in those breakout rooms.

REGISTRATION FEES AND PROCEDURE:

The CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEE for both days is as follows:

Conference Fee is set at a flat rate of UK £30 for everyone. The rate for PhD students is UK £20
