Registration Information

The 29th Audit & Assurance Conference, organised by the Auditing Special Interest Group of the BAFA and with the support of Aston Business School, will take place in the Aston Conference Centre, in Birmingham, UK on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th May 2019.

Doctoral Students

We can accept only a small number of doctoral students paying the Doctoral Student rate, and as a result early registration is encouraged. In addition, doctoral students, taking advantage of the Doctoral Student rate, are required to submit their doctoral thesis proposal, and a letter/email of support from their first supervisor. Special Food Requirements
Delegates attending the 29th Audit & Assurance Conference in Birmingham who require vegetarian or other special meals must so indicate on the registration form.

Delegates planning to attend this conference who have special needs are requested to notify ilias G. Basioudis, at or +44 (0) 121 204 3024 to facilitate identification and accommodation of these needs by the organisers.


The venue for the conference dinner will be at the grounds of Aston Villa football club.

Registration Deadline
There is no registration deadline. However, early delegate registrations are encouraged so the organisers would be able to make adequate plans.

Cancellation Policy

  • All cancellations must be received in writing by ilias G. Basioudis, or +44 (0) 121 204 3024 in order to be processed
  • Fees will be refunded (less 25% administration charge) for cancellations received before 30th April 2016
  • No refunds will be available for cancellations after April 30th, or for no-shows but confirmed substitutes will be accepted

Woodcock Sports Facilities 

Conference Aston residential and hotel guests may enjoy complimentary use of the Woodcock Sports centre located opposite the hotel on Aston Street. The Victorian venue offers Birmingham’s oldest working swimming pool, a 110 station gymnasium, sauna, steam room and changing facilities. Guests must collect a voucher from the hotel reception to present at the sports centre for free access

Birmingham New Street Station is the nearest main-line station to Aston University, a short, flat 15 minutes walk away through the main shopping areas of the city along Corporation Street. The station has direct lines to most parts of the UK and many local services.
